The Black Catholic Ministry of the Diocese of Sacramento invites you to join us in celebrating the Seven Principles of Kwanzaa over a seven-year period. Beginning in August 2026 and continuing through August 2027, we will celebrate Umoja. Umoja means “unity” in Swahili. As the first year of our seven-year celebration of the Seven Principles of Kwanzaa, this year's focus is Umoja -Unity in the Family, Community, and Nation. Each subsequent year will focus on another Kwanzaa principle, beginning with Kujichagulia (Self-Determination) in 2027 - 2028.
