With faith in the promise of the Resurrection, the Diocese of Sacramento mourns the passing of Deacon Pete Lobo Jr., who entered eternal life on Sept. 8, 2026, at the age of 90.
Born Jan. 29, 1936, in Pampanga, Philippines, Deacon Pete earned a law degree from the University of Manila in 1964 and passed the Philippine bar examination the following year. He immigrated to the United States in 1972 and later settled with his wife, Agnes, in Vallejo, where they found a spiritual home at St. Catherine of Siena Parish.
Deacon Pete was ordained to the Permanent Diaconate for the Diocese of Sacramento in 1988 and served the Diocese for more than 31 years. His ministry was rooted at St. Catherine of Siena, where he faithfully served the parish community through baptisms, marriages and many other aspects of parish life and diaconal ministry.
Remembered by his family for his devotion, kindness, laughter and love, Deacon Pete shared 69 years of marriage with Agnes and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Please pray for the eternal repose of Deacon Pete’s soul and for the consolation of Agnes, his family, friends and the St. Catherine of Siena Parish community.
