The latest issue of Catholic Herald magazine is here — and it’s one you won’t want to miss. In this edition, we turn the spotlight on young married couples who are "building marriages that survive." In the cover story, Rochelle and Eddie Reduta of Good Shepherd Parish in Elk Grove celebrate four years of marriage in October. Still, in this relatively short time, their relationship exudes a timeless bond. "We knew we could make it together," Eddie says, referring to how they "built up friendship over the years," having first met in 2017.
This issue is also filled with powerful witness and local stories that speak to the heart of our Catholic community. Bishop Jaime Soto reflects on "from the day they are wed, the couple begins a sacramental journey, living as pilgrims of hope." Joshua and Isabella Keeney of Sacred Heart Parish in Sacramento share how they listen to God with sincere hearts and sure faith as they come up on celebrating one year of marriage, as well as welcoming a new baby into their family. Camille and Mathew Perdiguerra of St. Catherine Parish in Vallejo offer a fresh perspective on the fullness of the marriage vocation. they emphasize the importance of a "marriage identity." Kathleen Domingo, executive director of the California Catholic Conference, discusses how the California bishops' "Radiate Love" initiative inspires hope for marriage.
In columns in this issue, "Marriage Matters" examines how the Mass can strengthen your marriage; "Parenting" details how parents can establish family holy habits; and "Teens Living Well" advises teens on how they can help friends carry their crosses.
Bishop Jaime Soto is the publisher of Catholic Herald magazine, which is published six times each year and includes moving faith stories about Catholics in the diocese, as well as news and events of the local church.
