A star, a star, dancing in the night stirred the hearts of the magi and set them on a journey that would bring them gladness and peace. I pray the Lord Jesus will stir your hearts this Christmas with the same gladness and peace.
All creation is charged with the grandeur of God’s mercy and wisdom. His almighty mercy comes close and personal for us in the person of Jesus, the son of the eternal Most High God who became the son of Mary. Through his amazing grace, we all become his brothers and sisters.
The tender intimacy of the Holy Family huddled around the manger of Bethlehem is offered to us in the quiet, humble mystery of the Eucharist. In the sacrifice of the Mass, Jesus reveals his radiant mercy. As he was wrapped in swaddling clothes, so he now seeks to be wrapped in our hearts. Then, like the stars on the first Christmas night, our souls will dance with the joy of salvation. Merry Christmas.

Les invito a todos, en medio de todo el movimiento de estos días festivos, tomar la oportunidad de considerar aquellos gestos cariñosos de una madre jovencita hace muchos siglos atrás. María dio a luz su hijo primogénito; lo envolvió en pañales y lo recostó en un pesebre. Con un tierno amor cuidó al recién nacido, vistiéndolo y dejando a la criatura descansar, aprovechando de los medios y circunstancias humildes a su alcance. Este acontecimiento muy humano inició una obra muy divina. El Dios todopoderoso empezó a revelar su gran divina misericordia en el sencillo intercambio de familia.
El mismo Dios, creador y redentor, espera la oportunidad de manifestarse a nosotros en la misma manera. Seamos entonces atentos a las epifanías santas posibles en nuestras convivencias navideñas. El Señor Jesús espera traer la caridad, sabiduría, y gozo del cielo a sus hogares y corazones. Imitemos el ejemplo sencillo de María en estar atentos unos con otros, ofreciendo la misma reverencia con que el niño Jesús fue recibido en los primeros momentos de su vida. Así, la alegría de aquella primera noche buena se revivirá en ustedes y los suyos. Feliz Navidad.
