Fire Assistance Fund 2020

In light of the fires burning in counties throughout the Diocese, Bishop Jaime Soto has asked the faithful of the Diocese of Sacramento to pray for all those affected, especially the residents who have been displaced, lost their residences or evacuated. Ask for God’s protection upon the firefighters and emergency personnel. Pray for those who have died and all those suffering loss during this catastrophic time.

“The scenes of suffering experienced by our brothers and sisters who have lost their homes and livelihood move us all to grieve with those affected.  We join our prayers to theirs asking God’s tender mercy to bolster our faith and sustain our hope in His loving providence.

We also pray for the brave men and women who are responding to these disasters, battling the fires and helping people to safety. May the intercession of our Blessed Mother Mary bring our supplications for relief to the throne of our heavenly Father. May her Son, Jesus, our Good Shepherd, guide us and protect us.”

Catholic Charities of Yolo Solano, Northern Valley Catholic Social Service (NVCSS) and the St. Vincent de Paul Society are working together with local community partners to help those in need.

Parishioners wishing to donate money to assist those in need may do so in the following ways:

Intercessory prayers

For those who lost their homes and livelihood in the recent wild fires ravaging many parts of the diocese, that they receive the help needed.  May those who have died receive God’s mercy.  May all those fighting the fires be protected from harm.  We pray to the Lord.
