March-April Catholic Herald magazine is published

The March-April issue of Catholic Herald, the magazine of the Diocese of Sacramento, has been published. The theme for the feature stories in this issue is "keeping children safe." The digital edition of the magazine is available at http://faithdigital.org/Sacramento/CH0318/?page=0

The far-reaching commitment to safe environment in action by all at St. Dominic Parish and School in Benicia is featured in the cover story. "Our job is to make sure everyone is safe," says Dominican Father Jerome Cudden, pastor of St. Dominic Parish since 2013. "We never want a child -- or anyone -- to suffer at the hands of another person," he explains, emphasizing how safety "is a priority."

Other stories in this issue include a feature on "raising faithful families in the digital age" with Lisa Hendey, founder of CatholicMom.com; how peace managers are preventing bullying and resolving conflicts at St. Mary School in Sacramento; how Camp Pendola, the Diocese of Sacramento's summer camp, safeguards the "awesome" experience of freedom and faith; and a special report on the Diocese of Sacramento's comprehensive safe environment program.

Bishop Jaime Soto is the publisher of Catholic Herald magazine, which is published six times each year and includes moving faith stories and high-quality photography about Catholics in the diocese, as well as news and events of the local church.
