Catholic organizations convene broad discussion on immigrant integration in challenging times

Bishop Jaime Soto will join government officials, experts, researchers, theologians and Catholic leaders from across the nation at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles Oct. 11-13 to examine how Catholics and church institutions can strengthen immigrant integration, participation and empowerment in increasing challenging and uncertain times.

The conference, entitled "Strengthening the Catholic Response to Immigrant Integration, Participation and Empowerment in an Era of Uncertainty," is co-sponsored by Center for Migration Studies (CMS), Loyola Marymount University, Mount St. Mary's University and Providence St. Joseph Health.

The primary purpose of the conference is to advance the goals of CMS' Catholic Immigrant Integration Initiative which seeks to study, document and support a growing network of diverse Catholic institutions that are working successfully to advance immigrant integration, empowerment and well-being.
