September-October 2020 issue of Catholic Herald magazine is published, with theme of respect life

The September-October issue of Catholic Herald magazine has been published. The theme for this issue is respect life. The digital edition of the magazine is available at https://catholicmagazines.org/magazine-archive/catholic-herald/sac0920

In the cover story of the September-October issue, Eliza Cobos of Holy Spirit Parish in Fairfield radiates gratitude for her journey to God after decades of anguish. She shares her powerful passage to healing after abortion, as a result of returning to the practice of her faith and attending a Rachel's Vineyard retreat weekend as part of the diocese's Project Rachel ministry.

Other feature stories in this issue include Bishop Jaime Soto's column on: "May we employ both faith and reason for the dignity of all human life"; how Bishop Gallegos Maternity Home provides hope for homeless pregnant women; "Walking with Moms in Need": how respect life volunteers say year of service will boost, refocus their efforts; and how the Gabriel Project offers women in crisis pregnancies emotional, spiritual and financial support. In the Last Word column, Msgr. James Murphy reflects on hunger for the Eucharist during a pandemic.

With this issue, Catholic Herald magazine celebrates its 10th anniversary of publication and of telling your faith stories. Bishop Jaime Soto is the publisher of Catholic Herald magazine, which is published six times each year and includes moving faith stories about Catholics in the diocese, as well as news and events of the local church. Individual faith stories are the cornerstone of the magazine and columns also explore the Catholic faith and education about church teachings.
