Letter regarding closure of EGUSD schools due to Coronavirus

Dear Catholic School Community:

Today, Elk Grove Unified School District announced the closure of all their district’s schools through March 13 after a family at one of their schools tested positive for the Coronavirus.

The safety of your children is paramount, and we take the Coronavirus seriously. We are currently working on updated protocols for school closures, including provisions for distance learning should we face extended closures for any reason, including communicable diseases or natural disasters.

In the meantime, to the best of our knowledge, no student of any diocesan school has been diagnosed with the Coronavirus. Due to the breadth of our geography, we continue to monitor the situation by school and community and will advise you if we do see a reason to close a school or schools. In the meantime, we will continue to observe the protocols I communicated in my letter of February 27, which I attach hereto.

Thank you for your attention to the health of our children and communities. We continue to pray for all those affected by disease.

St. Edmund the Martyr, pray for us!
St. Patrick, pray for us!
Our Lady of Guadalupe, pray for us!

Peace,
Lincoln Snyder
