Holy Spirit School in Sacramento is celebrating 75 years of Catholic education

Holy Spirit School in Sacramento is graced to have been founded by the Sisters of Mercy. Through their prayers and efforts along with the work of many pastors and the sacrifice of many families, past and present, the parish community is celebrating 75 years of excellence in Catholic education in the Land Park neighborhood.

"Our goal is for each student to develop a life of faith and lifelong learning; to put them on a path of excellence as a person and as a learner that will follow them through elementary school, into high school, college and well beyond," says Raphael Domingo, principal. "We believe that elementary school is where these seeds are planted and nurtured."

During Catholic Schools Week, Bishop Jaime Soto on Jan. 29 joined the parish community, along with some former pastors, to celebrate the school's 75th anniversary Mass. The school also received a special apostolic blessing from His Holiness Pope Francis in recognition of the 75th anniversary.
