Deacon Raul Leon, who was ordained to the permanent diaconate for the Diocese of Sacramento in 1988, died on March 7. He was 83. He served the Diocese of Sacramento for more than 25 years.
Bishop Jaime Soto will preside at a funeral Mass for Deacon Leon on Monday, March 27, at 10 a.m. in the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, 1017 11th St. in Sacramento. The rite of committal service will be held that same day at 2 p.m. at St. Mary Cemetery and Funeral Center, 6509 Fruitridge Road in Sacramento.
A vigil service will be held at 8 p.m. on Sunday, March 26, in the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament.
