Diocese Celebrates Formation Ministry Leaders for Their Service and Dedication

The Lay Formation Department of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Sacramento hosted its first Annual Appreciation Gathering for Formation Ministry Leaders on May 11, bringing together ministry leaders from across the Diocese for a shared celebration of gratitude and fellowship.

This year’s gathering marked a special milestone as, for the first time, Directors and Coordinators of Religious Education, Coordinators for Ministry for Catholics with Disabilities, OCIA Coordinators and Master Catechists were recognized together in a single diocesan-wide event. In previous years, the various ministries were honored separately.

Bishop Jaime Soto joined the gathering and expressed his gratitude for the faithful service and dedication of the many ministry leaders who help form and accompany the people of God throughout the Diocese of Sacramento.

The event served as an opportunity to recognize the important role these leaders play in the life of the Church through catechesis, evangelization and ministry. Their work helps foster faith formation, sacramental preparation and ongoing spiritual growth within parish communities across the Diocese.

Organizers noted that appreciation is more than a simple gesture of kindness. It is an acknowledgment of the value, service and lasting impact these ministry leaders have through their dedication and witness.

The gathering also provided an opportunity for fellowship and encouragement among those engaged in formation ministry, celebrating their shared mission of helping others grow in faith and discipleship.
