Intermediate Course Series

A seven-part series for those who have completed their basic formation and would like to continue with formation. A 3-year cycle of theology program for Master Catechist and Advanced Studies.
The Department of Lay Formation of the Diocese of Sacramento offers Intermediate Course Series, Level 1- a ministerial program and Level 2 - theological program, for all catechetical and ministry leaders.
You will receive a Certificate of Completion upon finishing Level 1. This level focuses on ministry areas such as Liturgy, Catechesis, Pastoral Ministry, Social Concerns, Marriage and amily, Youth and Young Adult Ministry, and Sacred Scripture.
Intermediate Course Series Level 2 is a 3-year Advanced Certification Program for Master Catechist Certification and Advanced Studies Certification for Lay Ministry Leaders and Deacon Candidates. This level focuses on some foundational areas of Theology.
2026 - 2027
Level 1: Marriage & Family, and Introduction to the Sacred Scripture
Level 2: Revelation & Transmission, and The Person of Christ (Christology)
