Deacon Richard Koppes Justice and Peace Speaker Series: John Carr

The Koppes Family and Saint Anthony Catholic Parish in Sacramento are proud to announce the creation of the Deacon Rich Koppes Justice and Peace Speaker Series.  This four-year program will bring to the Sacramento community men and women who have committed their lives to living at the intersection of Catholic social teaching and the public square.

The first speaker will be Mr. John Carr, founder of the Georgetown Initiative on Catholic Social Thought and Public Life.  John also served for over 20 years as Director of the Department of Justice, Pace and Human Development at the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB).  There, he directed the Conference's public policy and advocacy efforts on major domestics and international issues.  He has lived his life at the intersection between his faith and the public square.  John retired this year after 50 years of service to the Catholic community. 

John Carr's presentation will be followed by a reception.
