May-June 2024 issue of Catholic Herald magazine is published

The May-June 2024 issue of Catholic Herald magazine has been published. The theme for this issue is the Eucharist in the lives of the faithful. The digital edition of the magazine is available at https://catholicmagazines.org/magazine-archive/catholic-herald/sac0524

In the cover story of this issue, the Diocesan Eucharistic Congress activities from March 9 are featured. With the theme of "Real Presence, Real Life," some 2,000 for the faithful form across the Diocese of Sacramento joined in the event, which was part of the Eucharistic Revival currently taking place in the diocese and across the United States. The congress featured music, food and inspiring speakers.

Other stories in this issue include Bishop Jaime Soto's column on "Memory melds mind, body and soul into humble acts of praise and supplication"; how two college students, Catherine Beck of CSU-Chico and Rebecca Ielati of CSU-Sacramento, shared their devotion to the Eucharist; how pastoral care ministry at St. Anthony Parish in Sacramento is a bridge to the Blessed Sacrament for Catholics who are unable to attend Mass for various reasons; how the year-long Eucharistic Camino enlivens parishioners and deepens devotion in the Sutter Buttes Deanery; how Deacon Brian Smith shares with parishioners at St. Patrick Parish in Placerville how to experience the real presence of Jesus; and how campers meet Jesus in Eucharistic adoration at Camp Pendola.

This issue also includes columns on spending time in Eucharistic adoration and Theology 101, addressing "Jesus is the way that leads to communion with God the Father." There is also a special report the National Eucharistic Congress and the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage that will be traveling through the Diocese of Sacramento May 21-24.
